I remember when I decided to pursue my acting career. I just knew when they saw me they would say, "that girl, we need that girl!". That hasn't happened yet and its almost two years later. After lots of rejections, interning on Broadway and NBC I have a lot more insight on how to "get in". And its way more complicated than I initially thought. So, I decided to create a blog dedicated to recording everything I find about how to get into the entertainment business. Even if no one reads it, I can always use it for myself. So I'll start with 10 things I've learned over the two years.
1. Headshots are a must if you are serious
2. Training is optional (the industry is so superficial)
3. Working out is NOT (the industry is so superficial)
4. Its NOT about networking, its about creating relationships.
5. Maintaining the relationships you make are key in progressing.
6. CREATE YOUR OWN CONTENT!
7. Don't put your life on hold. Take a vacation!
8. Don't do it for the money, do it for the passion.
9.Put yourself out there! Send mailings to agencies, submit, submit!
10. Live a balanced life. Do yoga, go to church, whatever keeps you stable.
So, here it is. In no particular order. Go get 'em. :)
